Privacy and local storage

You can use the site without an account. Advertising is disabled. The site does not load advertising or analytics scripts.

Advertising verification

The site includes a Google AdSense account tag and an ads.txt file for ownership verification. These do not load ads, set cookies or send your details to Google. Before advertising is enabled, this policy will explain how advertising uses data and how to manage or withdraw consent.

Saved outlets

Saved outlets stay in local storage in your browser. They are not sent to Sewage Map. Clear them on the saved page or in your browser settings. They do not sync to other devices.

Search and location

Name searches run in your browser. Location access is requested only after you choose “Use my location”. Your browser controls that permission. Coordinates are used to find nearby records. Map-tile requests can reveal the area being viewed to the map service.

If you use postcode lookup, the entered postcode is sent to Postcodes.io to obtain a location. Do not enter personal details into the search box.

External services

CARTO supplies the map tiles, based on OpenStreetMap data. Source links open other services. They receive normal web request details, such as an IP address, and apply their own privacy terms.

Hosting

The hosting provider processes requests to serve and protect the site. Operational logs may contain request and error details. The site does not ask for a name, email address or password.
