Report sewage and water pollution
Report pollution you observe through the official service. A saved location on this site does not send a report to the Environment Agency or a water company.
What to do
For pollution in England, use the official online report or call 0800 80 70 60. Give the location, time and a clear description. Do not approach an outlet or enter unsafe land.
Report pollution in England
The government service accepts reports about pollution in rivers, the sea, lakes, reservoirs, canals and smaller watercourses. State where it is and when you noticed it. Use the online form to give the details requested.
If you cannot use the online service
The Environment Agency incident hotline is 0800 80 70 60. It is a 24-hour service. Check the official page for the current reporting options.
Use the right national service
Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have separate reporting routes. The government environmental-problem page links to them. Do not assume that an England report covers another nation.
A map point is not a visitor destination
Outlets can be on private land or near hazardous water. The source does not establish public access. You do not need to approach an outlet to read its record here.
